Real Academia Española

The Real Academia Española is the scholarly body in charge of guarding the proper usage of the Spanish Language.

Its motto is "Limpia, fija y da esplendor".
It is comprised of intelectuals that work in the acceptance of new words into the Spanish language. The English language and the information technology boom of recent decades have been keeping those folks really busy. They publish a dictionary every 10 years that is considered the final word of authority regarding the usage of words in Spanish.
